The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards took place on September 12th and this year’s fashion did not disappoint! Many artists went for more classy looks this year instead of leaning toward outrageous. There was lots of black and sparkle which went perfect with the pink carpet! Here are my favorite looks of the night!
Olivia Rodrigo
“Vampire” singer Olivia Rodrigo sparkled in a custom Ludovic de Saint Sernin gown, which matched perfectly with her makeup done by Nina Park for NARS.
Selena Gomez
Wearing Oscar de la Renta, Selena Gomez was stunning in red with sleek hair and a monochromatic makeup look by Hung Vanngo using her own Rare Beauty line.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift wore a simple yet classic black Versace halter gown. She paired the look with matching jewelry and a messy up-do creating an effortlessly glam look.
Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato is in her black, edgy era and I’m here for it, although I’m not a huge fan of oversized jackets, the look suits the vibe she is going for with her new album. Her makeup, created by Jill Powell using Danessa Myricks Beauty, is really what made her look stand out.
Shakira
2023 VMA Video Vanguard recipient, Shakira was draped in a gold Versace gown exposing a little bit of those famous hips that don’t lie. She kept her makeup understated and wore her honey-blonde hair down in mermaid waves.
Dove Cameron
Best New Artist winner Dove Cameron was goth chic in a black sequinned dress by Coach. She wore her matching black hair down and off her shoulders.
Charli D'Amelio
Charli D’Amelio went for classy cute in a black and white strapless dress by Shushu/Tong. She paired red lipstick with the look which gives it the perfect pop!
Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter looked like an angel on the pink carpet in a gorgeous white and sparkly Vera Wang gown. Makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez decided on a dreamy glowy look for her makeup with flushed cheeks and fluffy lashes. I’m obsessed with this look!
